Bright and early on a perfect August Saturday morning, 20 hardy and dedicated men, women and children arrived at NSA. Armed with shovels, gloves, brooms and a steely determination to bust some sod and class up the joint. Our all volunteer crew was made up of parents, students, STA parishioners, STA employees and a teacher who all worked very hard to accomplish something very wonderful. We took a break midway for a well-earned lunch, grilled up by an angelic parent volunteer then it was back to shoveling mulch, weeding (which was really a bit more like bush-whacking since our gradens are a bit more like a jungle) and yes, installing the beautiful paved surface beneath the arbor and down to one of the outdoor classroom areas. Not only will this reduce the mud tracked in to the building by 80+ pairs of little feet but it looks pretty swanky too!
