Ms. Hunding has been with NSA since it opened as Michael Frome Academy in 2008, beginning as a board member and second/third grade teacher. Since then, she moved up with the "big kids" as grades were added until this school year when left the classroom to assume oversight of the environmental and science curriculum and support and coach NSA teachers. She has been teaching 30+ years and came to NSA from the Science Museum of Minnesota where she taught, wrote curriculum and trained teachers. She is a licensed teacher and holds a Master's degree in Natural Science and Environmental Education. In her other life she is the mother of a grown son and daughter and a new member of the grandparents club. She is looking forward to introducing her grandson to mud, frogs and rock skipping. Ms. Hunding enjoys escaping to her "Happy Place", a cabin in Wisconsin as often as possible and is an avid archer, equestrian, paddleboarder and day-dreamer. An unapologetic science nerd and nature girl, Ms. Hunding is passionate about fostering a life-long connection to the natural world in all students.
